Summer School in Social and Historical Epistemology

The summer school is intended primarily for postgraduate and advanced undergraduate students, and aims at a discussion of central topics and their interconnections in both fields, such as e.g. testimony, expert knowledge, integrated HPS, SSK, the development of historical epistemology. The course consists of lectures, seminars and presentation sessions, and the students will be encouraged to integrate their understanding of these and other central questions of the two neighbouring disciplines.

Pécs is a historic city in South West Hungary with pleasant architectural heritage and natural surroundings, including the nearby wine region of Villány. Pécs also has a lively cultural atmosphere, it was Cultural Capital of Europe in 2010, and has an excellent, newly built concert hall, the Kodály Centre. The summer school will take place in the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter which has unique architectural qualities.
